The ABO and Rh blood groups were studied in children with Kala-azar (N=341) and healthy controls (N=2000) using antiserum, anti ABO and Rh blood groups by side agglutintion method.

The percentage of O+ blood groups in patients was 12% higher than control but B+ was 12% lower than P<0.005.
