A Study of Changes in Serum Lipoprotein in Norplant Users During 6 Months

A Survey of Satisfaction of People Accompanying the Patient in Emergency Department

This is a cross sectional design and its target population are people accompanying the patients who referred to emergency department (n=342). Sampling procedure was done as quota sampling Assessment tool of satisfaction of people accompanying the patient in emergency department was developed by researchers after identifying validity & reliability. The results of the study indicates that 47.7 percent of people accompanying the patient have satisfaction from emergency department. Results found that there is no significant difference between kinds of hospitals, education, reference times to hospital, referred to ward and patient’s fate and satisfaction of people accompanying the patient. Whereas, between age, sex, martial status of patients and satisfaction was not seen significant.

A Study of Causes of Unwanted Pregnancies in Mothers who Reffered to Hospitals of Hamadan

A prospective cross sectional study was conducted with goal of Identifying of causes & unwanted pregnancies in mothers who referred to Hamadan hospitals. 384 mothers as Convenience sampling were included. Results indicate that from 384 pregnant mothers, 42% had unwanted pregnancies. The causes were: (a) incorrect use of contraceptives (b) the failure rate of contraceptives (c) non use of Contraceptives.

Medical Students’ Approach Concerning Own Future

A descriptive-cross sectional study was conducted to identifying of medical students’ approach concerning own future. After qualitative study, questionnaire was developed by researcher. Sampling method was selected as census, but only 400 were participated in this study. Results found out that 53.3% of medical students have negative approach concerning own future. There is no relationship between age, sex, marital status and paternal education and students’ approach, but there is significant between educational level and students’ interest in relation to course and students’ approach.

A descriptive-cross sectional study conducted to identifying of prevalence and predisposition factors of Deaf-Blindness in primary school for blind children. Target population are primary school for blind children of Tehran city. From 381 blind pupils, 60 predisposed to deafness and 14 were developed with hearing loss. The prevalence of deaf predisposition was estimated 17.3% and the prevalence of Deaf Blindness was estimated 3.7%.

In order to survey epidemiological characteristic of malaria in Hamadan province, a survey was made in malaria positive at the health services of provinces from 1980 to 1992.
More than 300000 cases were positive for malaria parasites. The maximum cases were seen in 1983 and minimum cases in 1982.
The most cases were imported from southern provinces and Afghanistan, provinces of disease were higher in 20-30 years age group.
The minimum age was an infant who was parasitized from blood transfusion the prevalent plasmodiom was by p.vivax followed by p.falciporum, on case of p.malaria was observed during this period. Male cases were more than females. 64% of the case were rural areas and 33% from urban region. 14.9% of case were from Afghanistan and 59.9% of the case were imported from southern provinces of Iran.
13(5.5%) cases were parasitized in Hamadan. In job groups, workers with 34.4% had the most cases.
In conclusion, although, malaria is not an important in the next year, because of drug resistance and possibility of transmission in this province.

Evaluation of Parasitological Examinations of Medical Centers of Hamadan City, West of Iran

In order to evaluate the parasitological examination in medical centers of Hamadan city, a study was made in seven medical centers including university hospitals of Hamadan city, on patients with gastrointestinal disturbances from Oct. 1991 to Oct. 1992.
A total of 733 specimens from patients stool examinations have been done in the centers with direct wet mount and lugol’s iodin wet mount were carried to parasitology Laboratory in the school of medicine, and examined using different techniques including formalin ether, tricohrome staining , etc.
The result of the examinations in medical centers were significantly different and the result of this study showed that there should be a program for training the laboratory staff working at the medical centers.

A Study of the Hearing Condition on the Industeries Workers (Hamadan & Malayear)

The results of the clinical assessment and audiometery test in the industeries of the Shisheh Hamadan , Khosh Nosh , Keyvan , Nasimavar and industeries factories of the Malayear and the mining of the lead fiund aut that average of the hearing loss in total subjects is 32.42 db with SD 24.72 db in addition to , The results of audiometery from Hamadan Khosh Nosh factory indicated that 13.4% were developed to deep hearing loss or occuptional deafness (over 91 db), whereas in the workers of Malayear alrangeran lead mining is 12.5% miniotry of subjects from Hamadan Nasimavar factory (12.2%) were developed to mild hearing loss and total of subjects were developed to tympanic rupture.
