These children along with others with the same or another abnormalities were kept at special centers in different cities of Iran. This information includes sex and parental age of the children at their birth. The frequency of these children has been studied with regard to their paternal age groups. A careful study of the results through direct adjusted rates method showed that old age of the father increases the risk of the appearance of Down’s syndrome in the offspring. This risk is mostly directed towards the male children. 1994 9 01 0 0

For this purpose the network supply was divided into seven areas during eleven months, taking 1017 samples of water in these areas for the residual chlorine and bacteriological examinations. The results showed that 46.71% of the samples which were tested had residual chlorine up to 0.5 mg/lit, 6.29 had no chlorine and 47% of the tests were between 0-0.5 mg/lit. Bacteriological examinations on the basis of Coliform search ia done in two probability and then confirmed tests. This examination showed that the Most Probable Number of Coliform in 100 ml (MPN/100 ml) for 4.03% of this samples were between 2.2 to 9.2. the most contaminated area was under cover of reservoir no.2 that located in Musala Hill. 1994 9 01 0 0

In the child with diabetes who is otherwise healthy, infections as well as other acute illnesses are not more severe, not more frequent and not more difficult to treatment than in a child without diabetes. However, any acute may cause changes in insulin requirements and therefore a tendency to develop ketoacidosis. Almost all infections cause an increased need insulin. 1994 9 01 0 0

The percentage of O+ blood groups in patients was 12% higher than control but B+ was 12% lower than P<0.005. 1994 9 01 0 0

Avicenna Journal of Clinical Medicine Avicenna J Clin Med 2588-722X 2588-7238 10.52547/ajcm 1994 1 2 Iron Deficiency Anemia Hookworm Disease Seyyed Mahmoud Sadjjadi Jafar Massoud Among intestinal parasite infections, helminths, specially hookworms Necator amercanus and Ancylostoma duodenale which cause many problems are of special importance. Among problems, anemia which is iron deficiency type is the most important problem in infected regions. This type  of anemia is related to many factors including daily iron intake, body store of iron intensity duration if infections and species of the parasites. Although hemoglobin determination is of value in determining the anemia, but can not show the iron status the body. The studies in infected regions of the world including Iran, show latent problem due to these parasites which can be determined by biochemical examination of serum. The studies in Iran show that the most important problem due to hookworms is iron deficiency anemia which in many cases are in the form of latent iron deficiency. These studies show that a national program of control for these parasites in both south & north of Iran is needed. 1994 9 01 0 0
