A correlation study conducted to investigate the relationship between the head nurse knowledge and performance of communication pattern with nursing personnel inn  the hospital wards of the ‘ Medical Education and Health Services University” in the state of Hamadan (Iran , 1995).

The population of this study were all the head nurse in hospital wards who had the position of for at last six months, they were 41 head nurses. The tool of investigation was questionnaire. For analyzing the data descriptive and inferal statistics were employed.

Regarding the purpose, Pireson’s correlation test showed no significant relationship between knowledge and performance of communication patterns as well.

In conclusion the nursing implication of the finding were discussed and further research recommended..
