For determining the incidence of hospital mortality and left ventricular
function in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after thrombolytic
therapy with streptokinase in Hamadan Ekbatan Educational Hospital in
1997, we performed a quasi experimental study according to reference time
after onset of symptoms. Patients with A.MI were divided in two groups:
control group and interference ( streptokinase group ).
The hospital mortality was 10% and 18% in interference and control groups
respectively. The incidence of pulmonary edema and Cardiogenic shock
(killip class III,IV) was 11% & 4% in interference group respectively , and 16% &
9% in control group respectively.
According to the results obtained, the incidence of sever MR(+4) and
ejection fraction (EF) in interference group were 3.5% and 11% respectively.
These values for control group were 9% and 37% respectively. The results
showed the improvement of left ventricular function in interference group
due to reperfusion after thrombolytic therapy.
